The First Email

Parents and Students,

Yikes! There's only one month till we head out!.... Before our departure sneaks up on us any further though, I want to make sure that we have an email list available just in case anyone needs to get in touch or ask any key questions. So far, Sudeshna Sen and I are still in the process of trying to get our hands on all of the final details from the folks at the CHI headquarters. There still seems to be a bit of a hold-up, but we've been repeatedly assured that everything is well-taken care of. I am completey confident everything will work out smoothly. As soon as any information is passed our way, we'll be sure to send an update.

In the meantime, let's keep the dialogue open. If anyone has any questions, please feel free to use this email list as a way to ask the group for advice or suggestions...I know I am already trying to figure how much stuff to bring and what to leave behind. Email could be a good way to ask the group everything from how many socks should one pack to how to go about finding an international calling card. I'm sure some of you have already figured a few things out....if you've got any pointers, pass them on!

Also, at our meeting there was some talk of getting together as group before we leave (I think someone mentioned Sushiman in Issaquah or even the cafe at Uwajimaya). If there is still interest in this, let me know and I can begin to figure out a date that might work. I think it would be a good idea to help get all the students interacting as a closer group before we leave (maybe even invite the Stanwood kids as well).
